Volunteer FAQ

How many hours per week are expected from volunteers?

Committee volunteers are expected to contribute up to 10 hours per month. Board members are expected to spend up to 20 hours, depending on the project. Volunteers must commit to attending chapter events and monthly board and/or committee meetings.

Do you need to be a member to volunteer?

Membership isn’t mandatory to volunteer on a committee or on a short-term project; however, after several months of active service, membership will be encouraged. Board members must be AMA members.

I don’t have the time to commit to a full volunteer or board role. Do you have short-term opportunities?

Absolutely! There are many short-term projects that we would love to complete or initiate, but don’t have the bandwidth. If you have ideas for how to contribute, reach out to us! We would love to hear from you.
