How Many Hours Per Week Are Expected From Volunteers?
That can vary by role type. Volunteers on a committee are expected up to 10 hours per month. Board members are expected about the double the amount, varying by project. We are in process to streamline several processes in an effort to increase efficiency.
Does it cost anything to be a volunteer?
There is no monetary cost to being a volunteer.
Do volunteers need to be a member in order to volunteer?
To volunteer on a committee or on a short-term project, being a member is not mandatory; however, after several months of active service it will be encouraged to become a member.
Those interested in a board role will need to be a member or become a member [link: ama.org/join] before an appointment can be made.
I don’t have the time to commit to a full volunteer or board role. Do you have short-term opportunities?
Absolutely! There are many short-term projects that we would love to complete or initiate, but don’t have the bandwidth. If you have an idea for a project that you see would benefit all members or the greater marketing community, please complete the form below. We may find that it aligns with a project we’ve been waiting to do.
Are there requirements to being an AMAPS volunteer?
Yes and no. To be a volunteer, we encourage anyone with an interest in building their marketing skills.
As for the board positions, there are some requirements, such as experience in marketing, strategy, and leadership. That is to be discussed further during the interview process.
